I have a long list of songs that I want played at my wedding and my DJ doesn't want to play them. This is a comment I often run into when speaking to clients who have been talking to other DJs. They would like to choose their own playlist for their event. My first comment to this is of course you want your music, it's your event and your hiring a DJ to work for you. When hiring a DJ you want to hire someone you can trust and who is flexible and willing to cater to your needs, not the other way around. Well established DJs know how to get a dance floor bumping and keep it going for the duration of an event. A DJ polished in the art of beat-mixing can guide through the steps of making a suggestion list for him/her to play. This always many of your songs to be heard and also always the DJ to properly mix for your party allowing everyone attending to have the best possible time.
