Here is an idea that I recently got to witness and really liked at a wedding. Want a photo with every guest at your wedding? Here is an idea... During dinner have your DJ announce that each table is going to get one photo with the bride and groom. Here is the fun part. The DJ can play one song and your table has to run to the bride and groom to get that fun, silly, serious, hilarious, or ridiculous picture with the bride and groom. When the song is over dinner can resume as normal. This fun photo idea can break up a long dinner service, can entertain your guests, and couples can get individual like photos with their guests.
Why we switched to Ape Labs Uplights...
They are simply the best uplights on the market. They are tiny and compact (Smaller than an iphone). They are magnetic and can be used as uplights, downlights, or accent lighting. They are handmade in Germany. They are intelligent and look way cooler than anything else on the market. Simply put...they are the best of the best.
There are a handful of trends and innovations that have made waves in the mobile DJ community in recent years. No new technology, however, has penetrated the DJ market as much as portable column array speakers. While initially serving as a tool of the high-end wedding DJ.
It’s easy to see why – column arrays offer a lot of benefits over traditional speakers With their woofer firmly planted on the floor, they achieve additional low-end output over standard cabinet designs. Their multiple mid and high range drivers deliver a wide dispersion pattern that can cover a space with ease. Their design helps reduce feedback from microphones, making the job of setting up proper gain structure more forgiving. In most people’s eyes (especially wedding planners), the most significant benefit they offer is their looks. Their sleek lines blend easily into most spaces, allowing them to disappear into the background and not distract from the event. Make sure that the DJ you choose uses column array speakers!
With the surge of the pandemic and many people turning to back yard weddings I have had a ton of questions regarding pricing and weddings. It doesn't matter if your wedding is in a ballroom in downtown Boston or under a tent in your yard. Every single wedding we do is a Super bowl! We give each wedding the same attention from beginning to end no matter the location or size. We don't offer the basic vs. elite wedding package. We don't offer wireless vs. wired microphones. We don't offer a harddrive filled with 10k vs. 100,000k songs. Whenever you see a wedding DJ offering packages based on equipment and not on experience run and head for the hills!
Be cautious when a wedding DJ offers your 'upsells' such as wireless microphones, larger music collections, etc. When choosing a wedding DJ you want experience, professionalism, knowledge, and of course skills. Does your DJ know how to facilitate a wedding or will they rely on a coordinator to be told what and when? Does your DJ know how to program and beatmix? Finally, does your DJ use professional equipment that looks ascetically pleasing with your wedding? All things to consider when hiring a wedding DJ.
